Croydon Council Core Strategy Plan - get involved to safeguard Selhurst Park

Croydon Council is currently consulting on it’s planning policies for the next 20 – 30 years. The “Core Strategy” will be the main point of reference for all developments in Croydon once the final document is agreed.
The Core Strategy will outline the priorities for Croydon – including economic development, culture and sport – and highlight the ambition of the Town to become London’s 3rd City. All future planning and regeneration within Croydon will have to flow from the Core Strategy.
It is therefore essential that the Core Strategy commits the Council to supporting a professional football club and a first rate stadium within the Croydon area.
The Crystal Palace Supporters’ Trust has made a detailed submission to the Council, in which it points out some deficiencies and asks for the Council to commit in the long-term to having a football club and football stadium as part of the Core Strategy.
What we need now is for fans to take part in the consultation too! This shouldn’t take too long, and can be done either in writing (to a freepost address) or via email.
You can download the attached draft letter, insert your name and contact details and send it off to the Council, but do hurry as responses need to reach the Council by 22nd March.
