Crystal Palace Football Club and Crystal Palace Supporters’ Trust have teamed up to launch this exciting project. Crystal Palace supporters are being asked to help out the Club in its hour of need by sponsoring the game against Preston on Easter Monday 5th April which is also a Family Day.
Supporters are asked to contribute £25 towards the sponsorship fund and the name of every fan that takes part will feature on a special poster in the matchday programme for the Preston game as well as a special scroll of honour on the giant screen. The Clubs main sponsor GAC Logistics have kindly agreed to give up the branding on the front of the home shirts for this match and it will now carry the logo of the Supporters Trust. All supporters taking part will get the chance to win the shirts worn by the players on the day along with some other fantastic prizes.
The Crystal Palace Supporters’ Trust have already contributed £6,000 to start the fund and it is hoped to raise over £50,000.
Crystal Palace FC Chief Executive Phil Alexander says “We have been overwhelmed by the response of Palace supporters since the news of administration with their offers of help. This project enables supporters old and new, young and old, to help in a very tangible way. Every person that contributes will be given a special mention on the poster we will produce in the programme for the Preston game and they will get a chance to win some great prizes in the draw.
I would like to thank The CPFC Supporters' Trust for their involvement and support and can assure all supporters of the Club that the revenue generated by this initiative will actually be making a difference and will be a big help."
The Crystal Palace Supporters' Trust adds:
"The Trust are delighted to work with the Club and support the Family Day sponsorship on April 5th and urge the Fans to participate. It is imperative we all support the Club through this critical period whilst the Administrator is dealing with potential purchasers. We urge all fans to join the Trust & help us show interested parties how we can be a part of the future."
Brendan Guilfoyle, the Administrator of Crystal Palace FC says “It is vital to fund the Club whilst I seek a new purchaser. I have been hugely impressed by the passion of Palace fans and I know this wonderful initiative will be a huge success. I would especially like to thank the Trust for their ongoing support."
