Trust meeting with the Football League 5th February 2010

Trust Representatives met with Football League officials last Friday afternoon. A number of issues were discussed including: -
-The League's insolvency policy
-The role of the League during and after the Club's Administration
-The impact of the Club exiting Administration without a CVA
-The feasibility of an appeal against the points deduction (see below)
-The question of the League witholding any funds from the Administrator
An appeal against the points deduction on the grounds of 'force majeure' (events unforseeable and unavoidable) was raised but is not feasible as the required criteria does not meet the circumstances of Palace's Administration. There is no grounds for appeal on the basis that the Administration was hostile, in that it was Agilo's decision and not Simon Jordan's.
Overall the meeting was very helpful in that it enabled us to clarify the League's position on a number of issues and gain a clearer understanding of their rules. We have the opportunity of further meetings and a continuing dialogue with the FL is important during this critical period in Palace's history.
